Hi everyone

I've recently purchased a 1984 230E in remarkably good condition except for slight wear on the power steering which I suspect is no worse than leaking seals and/or fan belt tension.

I can undertake this work myself however I am having difficulty in locating a supplier of new seals. Can anyone help please.

Chassis is W123 and plate on side of pump states:

ENKHELFPUMPE type 33 Spelly Vickers 126460 1580 65BAR.

Many thanks in anticipation.

Gordon.

Do not try Euro Car Parts or G S and F as all they do is paint an exchanged unit. The problem is that the MOT allows an inch play on the steering wheel. Therefore anything with an inch of play can be sold as fit for purpose. This happened to me. The only supplier is Mercedes Benz. You will need the piman shaft and working piston kit at about £187 + vat and the seal kit at about £22 + vat. It will cost you the same as a unit from ECP or GS&F but you will effectively have a brand new unit in the end.

I will email you my step by step guide directly to assist you. Do try and adjust the wear out before going further.
