Fitted new power steering rack over the weekend due to water ingress on the old one causing the motor to fail and the steering to make knocking and grinding noises.
Seems to have cured all faults but have now got red message on dash”power steering malfunction see owner’s manual “.
Does the rack need coding to the car in any way? Is it just a matter of going to a garage and asking them to switch the message off?
