I'm looking at the following it seems good value even with higher than average mileage. No leather a problem? need to consider resale options before I take the plunge.

2001 E 320 CDI Estate Elegance
Tansanite Blue Metallic with Orion Grey Cloth

Mileage: 50500
Price: £17995
no leather

cheers

To me there are some rules about certain cars, with mercedes they must always have leather, auto and metallic paint. After that it can get personal.

Each to their own,

Good luck,

Dear Morzine

Thanks, the lack of leather has been one of the things at the bak of my mind, the paint is metaic but I hear that "bright" colours (not weird ie pink/purple) are also a must they all seem to be silver and blue looks like aaudi a4

cheers

lack of leather would lower possible re-sale possiblilities - i sold my mums clk recently - and every call i had asked if it had leather.. many of which just put the phone down when i said no..

Your Mercedes
W210 E320 CDI Estate
I drive a W210 E320cdi estate, 81k, 2000 year.

My advice...dont touch it with a barge pole.

Never mind the leather etc, they are expensive trouble. Sure, great cars to drive, expensive to repair. Look around this site for a couple of hours and really look at the feedback.

Since 50K....

ABS pump failure...part cost is £700 sterling plus VAT, labour etc etc. Twice in 6 months.
Exhaust replacement, €500 plus vat
Windscreen replacement €400 plus vat, just cracked for no reason.
Rear shock replacement, parts cost €900 plus vat and labour.
Air con failure, cost so far €1100
Glow plugs....about €200
Car off road four times in three months, week at a time.

Dont touch it with a barge pole. If emotion makes you buy it get it thoroughly checked and replace anything not right, no bodges and no repairs.

Mileage at Aug 2003 63k.
Mileage at June 2004 80K
Breakdown service call outs since Aug 2003: Twice.
Repairs and services excluding tyres and fuel since Aug 2003 €7k excluding replacement cars. No Mobilo warranty.....you only get that 9 - 5 Monday to Friday.

Buy it and when you have spent £5k in a few months remember this mail.
