A couple of days ago I started having a problem with my 190E. If I'm at a stoplight or stop sign and accelerate there's a bad thumping noise coming from underneath the car about where the gearbox is on the center console. However, when I get up to speed the thumping noise goes away and the car sounds fine. There are no problems when the car changes gears or anything like that, but this noise really has me worried that the driveshaft may be going caput.
I know nothing about Mercedes vehilces as I've always owned american cars so I'd appreciate any help/advice on what this problem could be.
