Anyone else had problems with the soft-top on a CLK failing to open and shut?
The car is 2002 so it cannot be wear and tear...

same problem & resolution

We had the same problem on our 04. After replacement of the front rams they found that the real problem was simply the plastic lines, there was a restriction in the line. They replaced the line and all seems well at this time. The work was done about 3 weeks ago, and my wife has been putting the top up and town daily since then.

Good Luck

Thanks for taking the time to reply...
Took it on to the Mercedes dealer there was a hook missing that holds the small plastic shelf in the boot up, this I believe was the problem as the microswitch was not connecting with the weight of the roof in the boots, new hook fitted and so far so good..
I may put mine up 6 times a day due to our weather!! :?

You sound as bad as I am about having the top down. After seeing what is going on over there on our news, you also need water wings and a rudder. My wife and I lived in Richmond upon Thames at the Richmond Bridge. We were there for about 6 months during 90/91. I remember one storm we had with winds in excess of 90 miles per hour. That winter was a wild one. I hope you have good flood insurance.
