Hi there, wondered if anyone has found a solution to an intermittent powering on/off problem with the above unit (it's a w203 fitting). Have had the system Star tested and reset to my car but the unit still is temperamental. Have looked on numerous forums to find what else I can do, but I'm guessing it's something to do with the electronics. I've tried a fibre optic loop as well prior tor STAR reprogramming.
The Quad lock was working perfectly for the Audio 20 I had in before. When the unit works it works fine navigation etc all OK. However, sometimes hangs on mercedes logo, but then switches off. A key difference to knowing when it will work (often 1st time after the car has been stationary for a day or so) is that all the button lights come on. When not working only the logo appears and no lights. When garage used STAR to reprogramme it couldn't find it until the unit was working. In my novices head (!) this would suggest there's no power feeding the unit with or without the key in the ignition. Radio has to rescan which again suggests a lack of power feeding the on board memory?
Have updated to the latest software but am loathed to give up as hope it could be a simple electronic repair. Next step is to open the unit to see if there's anything obvious but thought I'd ask here first just in case someone has an alternative solution (other than buying another unit ). Many thanks in advance.
