purchasing a 1992 300d w124

i am thinking of purchasing a 300d w124 estate to toe our caravan
and think they will be very reliable am i on the right track , thankyou.

There are lots of threads on here about 300D estates so do a search and have a good read

If it's a pre-93 300TD it's a slow car but will tow well. If it's a post-93 car it's an E300 Diesel and a fair bit more powerful

Both models will struggle with a big caravan. Up to about 1500 Kg you will be fine. Any more and you'll find it hard work

The most important factors here are the loaded weight of the caravan and the weight of the passengers & luggage. According to mercedes an E300 Diesel will tow 2100 Kg but it's a brave & patient man who'd want to try
