It seems many of us are asking for advice re. symptoms, procedures etc. and some good stuff is being published, much of which I have appreciated myself in the relatively short time I have been a member. Unfortunately not many are making the effort to let us know the final outcome. I find this a little frustrating and even a little selfish to leave us 'hanging', never knowing whether success was had or otherwise. Can we be a little more diligent with follow-up please? Many of the searches I have done have been a total waste of time when at the end of umpteen pages there is no outcome!

Y'know I was just thinking the same (about a different motoring forum), I guess once a problem is fixed ppl just forget and move on. Hardly ever a word of thanks! Dunno why we bother, grumble grumble...!

Couldn't agree more Tom. I do have a feeling that many people find the Forum by searching on the internet when they are trying to resolve a problem. Soon as the problem is fixed - with or without the Forums help, they are off again. I reckon we have quite a high percentage of "passers through".

I have tried to find out the endings of quite a few interesting threads to no avail and it really does irritate !

I suppose if I had a problem with my central heating then I would be looking for a central heating forum somewhere in the world to find an answer. I would, out of courtesy, leave a conclusion and thank the forum but i dont think I would be frequenting that forum after that...!

All Forums tend to have a "core" of enthusiasts and the rest are just there to pick brains...this has to be expected. What the "passers through" should realise is that if they left feedback then the forum core would gain more knowledge and therefore would be in a better position to help..

and me too

I passed through and never managed to leave. Feedback is the icing on the cake as far as we are concerned. If I am advising complete and utter tosh, I'd like someone to let me know so I can stop.
