I have a technical question regarding radio tuning...specifically how tuning works in the UK. In the US, AM stations are spaced at 1000 khz and FM spaced at 200 MHZ.

So, the radio will tune AM in increments like 530, 540, 550, etc; FM is 88.1, 88.3, 88.5, etc. I know, for example, that in Germany the spacing is 900KHZ/100MHZ (AM 531, 540, 549, etc/FM 88.1, 88.2, 88.3, etc.) What's the spacing in the UK? Thanks a bunch.

Ray,

Same as Germany. Our AM band increments in 9 (hence we have frequencies like 1215, 909 and so forth). FM is in 0.1 increments as you correctly state, though some tuners go up or down by 0.05. If you have a radio sourced from the US or another country that does not comply with the UK then there may be a switch on the unit that changes the bands, or it may be a menu item on the radio.

Hope this helps!
