I chickened out of using Tyre Dressing yesterday because I didn’t want to get it all over my driveway. Any tips?
I use newspaper or rags at the base of each tyre to minimise overspray onto the tarmac or whatever.

I spray directly on to a sponge, dab around the tyre, then just work it all round with said sponge!

Dislike tyre dressing, looks awful and un-natural. I used Black Boot polish on mine, looks far better, doesn't have that glossy look and stays on the tyre not on the driveway :)

Can get different types, and some of those you can get different finishes depending on how long you leave it on, whether you buff it off etc.

I'm not a fan of the wet/shiny look, just like them to be clean and look new-ish.

Looks good, a crisp finish.

I use carpro Perl or Wowo's new tyre dressing, a little on a detailing pad then apply to tyre, no drips or mess on drive.

Driveway looks good too!

I put the tyre dressing on a sponge, then do most of the tyre, but not the bottom bit, then move the car slightly, then do the bit I didn't do in the first place,
(I know sad innit)
As for unnatural shine, Autoglym tyre dressing is really good, not to glossy, just right. :)

I use the Kent Microfibre Drying Towels, they are less than half the price of those and do a just as good job as those, have used them for years. I did get a Maguires drying towel a while back at £10 when it was on an Amazon special deal and that was no better than the Kent Drying Towels either. The Kent Towels are a nice big size and are/were recommended by Auto Express. I will continue to use them, so if you want to save yourself a couple of quid ? :):)

Andy, this is not, a micro fibre cloth as such, it's a bit different,
I've got large micro fibre cloths meself and they are good, but have to say, this was better.
:)

Gave me car a quick detail again today, paying particular attention to the wheels, noticed me nuts are looking grubby, tried to clean them, but not much success, so decided to colour the middle of the nut with a Black permanent marker pen, looks loads better, also why I was in the mood I touched a few stone chips with a White permanent marker pen, it actually works quite well. :)
