How is the connector removed from the back of this socket please?

I've always found that they simply pull off.

This is the connector. It looks as though it comes out at 90°

Cheers. I'll try that. Just didn't want to break it if possible, not that I've ever used it :p

Update - Tried your suggestion @Blobcat and those clips just open the cover of the connector.

I have the trim removed to replace the rear shocks but I'm not sure when I'll get to do it this week so just didn't want it dangling on the cable.

I've found and image and it does appear to come off at 90°.

Does the circled bit push down or lift up?

good stuff and good luck with shocks!!

Finished them this afternoon. It only took just over an hour to do both sides and refit the trim.
I have one broken spring on the rear and one on the front which the garage will change (all four) on Friday along with front shocks and also an MoT.
This should keep it going for another year at least.

Yeah. Its issues are now more cosmetic rather than mechanical which is impressive for its age and mileage is a paltry 87k.

Hi, how did you find this type of plug that fits the connector? I can't seem to find anything like that and when I do it's exorbitantly priced for what it is. My problem is that I haven't had that socket in my car for a few years. I inherited the car from my parents and I guess somehow mysteriously they took out the socket and lost it :D

There is a rear fuse panel behind the passenger side storage panel. It is probably a lot easier to use a fuse tap adapter to connect in the rear power socket.
I know there is a t least one switched 12v there as I'm using it for my dash cam.
