R107 ABS pump question.

Long shot this one chaps but the ABS pump on my 1982 500SL has failed. :Oops:

The multi pin plug connection on my pump has a 12 point connection but on the later R107 version there is only an 11 point connection. The MOT station have questionned whether the later one can be used.

I assume not as all of the pin points should serve a function but I would be grateful for any advice.

I cant answer this directly, but I have spent 2 hours today on the ABS pump on my Volvo. I unscrewed the ECU part off the pump and opened it and re soldered all of the pins one the rear of the multi connector, and it works just fine, you have nothing to loose by taking the old one down, you could also see if that odd pin goes anywhere
