r107 heated rear windows

hello all , i would like to know just how much to expect from the heated rear window on my 1987 300 sl . i have heared they are not great , but mine seems a little less effective than i hoped . any info ? i would be greatfull .:confused:

Hi Poppy, yes the hard top versions on the SL are quite small, does it clear eventually

Not really, I tend to open a window and crack and that helps...I know these are not going to be as good as a modern car but just trying to establish if its faulty or normal.

What you have to do then is to measure the voltage at the socket for the hard top. if 12 volt when all switch on, then measure the resistance across the plug for the rear window.
