R107 W123 side view mirror interchangeability?

Hi,

I've managed to damage my R107 450 SL 1980 RHS mirror internal metal structure reversing out from the garage. Found a pair of very reasonably priced W123 mirrors that look the same (in the seller's low quality photo). Could it be that the same mirror mechanics were used in both cars?
