I am currently recomissioning my R129 300SL and come across a couple of electrical issues. Painters had previously removed the bumper. I have attached an image of what I think is an earth cable that appears to have been cut. The cable runs from the headlight area on the offside (inside the engine compartment) and hangs down under the car, with no obvious place to attach it to the chassis. I am unsure if it was much longer but struggle to establish where it should run to. I am unable to contact the painter but not sure if he would be much help. I appreciate it is not a great image but if anyone out there recognises this cable I would be grateful for some advice.

Many thanks is advance and hopefully I have posted in the right place.

Is that an external temp sensor?
Normally located somewhere under the front bumper

Many thanks for all the comments. I would agree, did a google for an image and very similar just missing the end . No idea whiere it fastens but at least I have ruled that out as a contributing factor for indicator fault.

Thanks again all!!:)

Thank you but had a nightmare trying to remove the connectors. I just couldn't pull them out and wasn't sure if I was going about it the right way.
