Anybody know how to get into the boot of a R129 (1991 model) 500SL when a) the key has broken in the lock ans b) the central locking is working but when you push the barrel in nothing happens? It sound like whatever the button/barrel should engage with inside the boot has broken. I have heard that it is possible to drill a hole behind the number plate so that you can get at the mechanism but I gather you need a template to get teh hole in the right place. Can anyone help?
