Have a problem with my R129, my98, SL500.

The steering wheel began to sqeek, then the indicators would not self cancel. The abs and bas lights came on and stayed on.
Took the car to get a diagnostic. Could not reset steering angle sensor was the problem.

Did some research and found a possible cause could be that the housing holding the indicator and cruise levers could be loose.
Happy days, it was loose, so after a struggle removing a re-used steering wheel bolt I have fixed the housing, can see that the indicator should cancel as it moves over the cam.

Well not to be, still have all the original faults.
Before I purchase a new steering angle sensor from MB I have a question or two.

Is what I shall order.

I presume the clock spring is for horn and air bag.

I suspect that these just get worn over time but puzzled as to the indicators not cancelling, as cannot see how a new part will solve this. Does the steering wheel bolt(10mm) need to be fully tightened, perhaps raising the column up a mm or so. Only have it safe tight atm.

Thank you, any greatly appreciated
