R129 air vents

The driver's side dashboard air vent on my 1998 SL seems to be stuck closed...no amount of turning on and off of the control in the centre of the dash affects it. Could this be a fuse or is the vent controlled by a motor, which seems likely?

Every other vent, the air con and heating work perfectly.

Does anyone have any ideas how to fix this please?

It is probably a vacuum element failed for that flap, it is all vacuum operated
