R129 Battery failure?

My 1994 R129 SL320 has been sitting on my driveway for the last two weeks while I have been ill.

When I went out to it this afternoon the electrics were completely dead, not a glimmer of life.

It responded to a jump start and everything seems to work again. I let it run for a few minutes, switched off and then tried to start it again. Slightly reluctant but started.

I've had the car for nearly three years and havn't changed the battery in that time. Is this likely to be just a life-expired battery or might there be other problems on the way?

There are no known problems on the 129 Richard, I would charge the battery and see. Batteries do not like the frosty weather.

Thanks Malcolm, that's what I thought but it nice to be reassured.

New battery now fitted and no other problems have come to light so back to normal.
