R129 Gearbox Issue

Number 2 is caused by fault selector module

This is what happens when you don't use your cars regularly I have a 1997 r129 straight 6 with 4 speed 156000 miles and has no issues as I use it every day these ones that get left just for summer use are more prone to major failures due to lack of use rubbers perish suspension ceases in this case gear box failures if you have a classic use it don't let it rot away in a garage

Thank you to those who replied with advice, just got my car back from Auto Class (Mercedes and AMG specialists in Milton Keynes) who were fantastic in service and resolved the issue, it was as follows:

“Remove all of the required ancillaries to gain access to and replace the vehicles selector lever sensor and which involves the removal / dismantling of the selector mechanism. Rebuild the vehicle as required”
