I remember along time ago i owned a 95 sl320 in tormaline green with biscuit leather. My grille was vandalised, so i rang mercedes thinking it would be around £75 or so.
That will be £700 sir.

I found one on ebay for £120 eventually.

A serious thread bump here...but is anyone out there able to point me in the direction of grill restoration and similarly the trims, either with product or professional (hopefully in the Yorkshire region)?

It's such a shame to see such a beautiful looking car let down by a grill which looks dirty.

Have you tried spraying it with WD40 then leaving it. Spray again and wipe. Removes most muck I've found.

I'll give it a shot.

How long would you leave WD40 on? And would you be generous with it or quite sparing?

I'd be quite generous and agitate it before leaving it to soak

Yep generous and let it soak 15 minutes or so.

Bump again. Anyone moved this on and found a definitive solution and a way to clean the grille fins?
How did WD40 work?
