Please can some one help me with some advice .I changed the lock on the the drivers door and whilst changing it it blew a couple of fuses .1 was in the engine bay for the instrument cluster the other the drivers window .I replaced these and all seems to be fine but Since then i can't get the hardtop off .It will pull the roof down if the button is pressed forward .But when the button is pressed back it does nothing .I have reset the windows and the roll bar but still does nothing .The light flashes once to tell you that the system is ready and does nothing within the 10sec time fro turning the key to position 2 then the light constantly flashes when you hold it back .The only odd thing i have noticed is that the drivers window takes a long time to click when resetting it and the closing of the windows from the key works one day then not not .Is it poss that the eco is damaged on the window circuit and doesn't know where the window is so halting operation .Can anyone help me with a diagram of the connections to the ecu ( I'm an electronic engineer so if i had this would make life so easy ) I did take the hardtop off manually but the soft top did nothing

Do the windows go down when you operate the roof switch?

Have you done it within 30 seconds of turning ignition on. I make this mistake every year and forget that after 30 seconds you can't remove the hardtop.

The first thing that I would check is ALL the fuses in the boot, they are for the windows and the roof ecu. If they are the old aluminium fuses change them for copper even if they look ok.

The next thing is do the windows go up and down using the window switches ? If they do leave them down then try the roof again.

Depending on the year, some later R129's need stored roof codes to be cleared using STAR.

If you still need the pin out diagrams for the roof controller just PM me your email address.

hi ned Before i had all the problem it had blown fuse 6 under the bonnet and the driver side window fuse .I have noticed a funny fault that you can reset the windows but when you turn the ignition on and off they won't one touch down but after changing from 1 window to the other they will .I really think its looking like the roof module but i will do some tests
thanks sean

Most problems are with the switches built into to switches both side fitted to each lock, I do have the info for setting both sides and the hard top stops
