Happy new year all.

I spent this pm trying to work out where my power steering fluid was leaking from on my sl500 1998. Turns out its from the o ring between the black plastic reservoir and the pump, so that's good news, a lot simpler and a hell of a lot cheaper to fix. But after much googling, i cant be sure of the correct o ring to buy. Anybody got a part number for this? looks like a previous owner has lost the o ring and tried to make their own with silicon! pic attached

Whilst in this area, i am also struggling with another part number, that my local merc main dealer has also drawn a blank on. Because of this power steering leak, leaking for a long time, by the looks of it, the oil has disintegrated a gromit that sits on a bracket attached to the engine oil pan, which the ADS pipe from the pump to the valve sits. There are 2 of these, last picture is of the good one, the other has split, so the pipe is rubbing on the metal bracket, so i need to address it.

That was a cheap repair, £4.50! i was ready to take the whole tandem pump off and replace, but after a chance read of a google post about the joint between the pump and the reservoir, it turned out to be this o ring that had failed. Definitely worth properly cleaning the whole area of all the old oil leakage from years of leaking, (loads of it everywhere), and seeing where exactly the leak was coming from.
