Hi I have had to change my battery as it went flat due to cheap dash cam drain. After fitting the new battery I re synced windows but noticed soft top button red light on and 2 red arrows on the roll bar switch with no roof or bar operation "Dead".

The car has never been jump started only Issue I have noticed was for the past year the second last sequence failed "closing where soft top rear latches" having to release and press button a second time to close.

I have no-one near me with Star to get a diagnosis as mt model is 1996. I have left battery disconnected and controller fuses out over night nil fix. I am wondering Is this the controller or something silly I am missing. Help appreciated...

I understood that Star was the only diagnositic that could reset?. What year is your car.

After you have tried the roll bar reset, lowering and raising the soft top manually can often kick the system back into life.
is there oil in the roof pump reservoir and did you try with the engine running.. hope you get it fixed..

Update I manually lowered the soft top but had a lot of trouble trying to get it re latched as rear latches were closed. Trying to open one would hydraulicly close the other. Using a 2 make shift wire loops to physically pull open latches to get roof closed. Problem still exists. I purchased a C3 Xentry hoping it would just be a reset but It will not communicate with the RV module for the roof.

Is this module failed any help appreciated.

As per MB star it says it RV does not answer possible causes can be the cable or a fault. I am presuming the controller is fried so I have sent it for repair.

Just update for anyone with similar issues. Controller was fried due to battery drain. The actual processor as well as diodes were damaged.
A lesson learn’d always keep a good battery with full charge
