Hi, My problem is that the drivers side window will not close fully, it reaches the top and then seems to slip. Reading an earlier post it seems it could be the micro switch by the door handle. I have managed to locate on the site, the video of how to remove the door trim but I would be very grateful if somebody could point me in the right direction where the microswitch is before dismantling the door. I think it is also linked to another problem with the roof not retracting after removing the hardtop. I believe I need to carry out some resets, which one is reseting the windows, so I will need to sort that Problem first. I am fast learning it is a mine field out there.
Many thanks in advance,
Ian

I had this problem on my 1993 300D and it turned out to be that the top few teeth on the window winder had sheared off or just worn away. In any event I kept the motor but replaced the winder mechanism - badly - because it goes down OK but needs a bit of manipulation to get it to stay in the grooves and close fully on the way up. It stays up fine now but when I get it back from 'Meet and Greet' at the airports they have always lowered it and haven't managed to get it back up right!!?

The windows on a 129 after 1996 lower a touch when the doors are opened and slightly different arrangement
