R129 Sl500 97 Lost key!

Hi everyone, I have just purchased an sl500 1997 which has been sat for 15years..the car is beautiful however a couple months ago the keys were stolen..I need to source a new key..getting from main dealer would be quite a wait due to me having to apply for a new V5. What are my options ..Iv been quoted £450 for a new programmed key from a Key specialist but he states if he can’t make it work it will cost me £120 call out..I don’t mind paying the £450 however I’m concerned as there is a TOAD ALARM sticker on the window and worry this could complicate and he will not be able to carry the work out..So what are my options here??? How can I be sure that a TOAD ALARM Is actually installed?? Sorry for long first post but I’m eager to get this car started on as Iv been after if for a long while.

No V5 and wanting a key for a Mercedes SL…

Any reputable key supplier will want proof of car ownership for quite obvious reasons…

Well the car is parked in drive next door to my house ..I think a call out could feel comfortable knowing it was mine plus I have to keys to the house gates and house . And looking in my drive which looks an Old Mercedes Salvage yard..he would work it out .
Iv applied for V5 but could take couple months to arrive plus lord knows how long Mercedes will take to make me one.

If it looks like an old Mercedes salvage yard you could easily have had it flat bed recovered there…

There‘s a slightly damaged 69 plate BM 5 series close to my house, it’s been there for 6 months and the owner hasn’t come forward. I think it was TWOC’d and abandoned after it hit something.

If any could guide me how to confirm if a Toad Alarm is actually fitted then that would be good..I have access to inside the car and obviously under the bonnet and the boot..
