Hello, as above I've had my SL500 in with a garage for a few years now having various bits done and they have lost the key during a refit

Local mercedes says they have no supplier and no idea when they will have one so I'm completely stuck, can anyone please point me in the direction of someone who can help?

I saw a previous post from years ago about RMK not sure if they are still about?

TIA

If it's the flip out single button key you might be a bit stuffed as there is no supply if them worldwide as far as I'm aware.

What are the garage doing to help???
Exactly - they've lost it so it's down to them to sort. One of the many reasons why I would never ever leave a car with a garage for several years!

You should be talking to the garage, and not us Thank god you're here, it's not as if I've been back and forth with them for the last week with no solution and had to come onto a forum for help

Sorry mate i recon your in a bit of a hole . So your car is still with them ? They will have to replace them . But what to do next i have no idea ---yet .I'd be fine with a new key being made at their cost - the liklihood of someone finding the key at the garage, knowing it is for your car, and knowing where you live so they can come and steal it is very low. Dealer might provide a key with proof of ownership and vin number

Your keys have most likely been dropped inside some other customers car that they worked on . The garage need to talk to customers that had work done there at the same time. Or get it sorted and send the garage the bill .

Yeah car is still there, it went in originally about 2 years ago for a roof problem which ended up having waiting about for an ECU to be refurbed which lead to leaking problems so then they had to be sorted. Garage completely refitted their site and somehow during this time the keys have gone missing (or apparently that's the story anyway)

Dealer have told me that they don't have a supplier for keys, not even just the blade so I can get into the car. Seems to be a supply issue for a few years now which they haven't resolved. I've messaged RMK who a few people suggested and just hoping he can help

Is the car open at the garage ? you got to play merry hell up ,, they are responsible once car is on therir property .And the garage must have insurance by law for this sort of thing.. Its like a car being stoen while in their possession. ...Get on to your insurance and talk to them Good luck

It's not that's the most annoying part everything is locked up. I have a sneaky suspicion there is a spare key locked in the glove box but I don't want to have to force entry if there isn't.

Car isn't insured either, I bought this Merc when I owned my body shop so had it on trade policy, it's been in the garage since I sold up and it was only going to have the roof fixed so I can then sell it on

They will absolutely be paying for everything though, I've hounded them for months and often had no reply or 'ill get back to you' so I have a feeling it's been lost for a while and they were delaying me while trying to find it

Write to garage, giv em 2 weeks to find a solution then hire a car and send them the bill.

It's not a car I drive, Ive only driven it twice. I bought it, restored it then was getting ready to sell before the roof started playing up (which is why I gave it to them)

Replacing the keys is what I'm aiming for them to do next week, but it's finding keys to be able to buy which is the problem at the moment
