Would anyone know if the tie rods are the same for right & left sides?

Yes they are for the entire rod assembly however the individual balljoints are not the same on each end of each rod. One balljoint is left hand thread and the other right hand thread irrespective of left or right side. .

Hi LostKiwi, I’m getting conflicting info from a supplier. I know the MB part nos are different but some manufacturers quote the same part for both sides! HELP!

I had exactly that when buying tie rods for my 1991 300CE. MB quoted different numbers but Lemfoerder quoted the same. I went with MB. And the left one was grey rather than black, if that makes a difference.
