It may need to be reset, after auto engaging. Lower with switch. Raise and Hold button up for at least 5 seconds. Then lower again. Then raise again.

Check that warning light for rollbar ignites when Key is turned to position '2', and extinguishes a few seconds after engine starts. I test drove an SL with this light pernamently on, and needless to say I purchased elsewhere. Other problems with documentation also.

Rock'nRoll bar

SG,

If you mean all the way up (90degrees); no. All the way up is about 60degrees
from horizontal. Don't think it goes up any further than this, even if flipped.
And not about to try and find out either.
I beleive that it will go up long before turning over.

It is recomended that it should be raised manualy when:
  • the rear seats are occupied
  • the temperature is below -15C.

I presume that if you were driving the car (top down?) at -15c, ice might block the ratchet system that engages the rollbar. Or condensation might freeze in the system.
