R170 320 slk 2003 key problem

changed battery in flip key. Opens and closes doors electronically.
engine fires at position3 but dies on return to position 2

Yes

Also opened key .was going to change casing .

There is a chip within the key that is read by a coil around the ignition switch. If the chip is absent, or the wrong one, you get exactly what you have going on now. It can fall out if you fully dismantle the key body. It’s a small black device, about 5mm x 3mm

Can I buy the chip or replacement key ?
