R170 central storage locked

I have a minor issue with the little storage box between the seats. It will not open.
I know it is supposed to lock/unlock with the central locking.

I have tried resetting the central locking via remote button twice then ignition position 1 within 30 seconds but no joy.

Is there anything obvious I am missing?

Any assistance is much appreciated.
