R170 Handbrake Adjustment

I was parking up the wife's SLK the other day and noticed that the handbrake could do with a tighten up. It's a conventional handbrake and not foot operated like my 'C'. How easy is it to adjust? Is it the cable or shoes in each of the drums that need attention? I would appreciate some advice.

Take out one bolt, turn the wheel until you can see the adjusting wheel and give it a couple of turns untill the wheel starts to bind, then back of a couple of turns!

Do I need to remove the rear wheels to do this?

No just remove one bolt and use a touch to see when the adjusting wheel comes in to view! (looking through the bolt hole)

Many thanks. I'll give it a go at the weekend. I take it there's no adjustment required on the cable?

There is a adjustment on the cable but shouldn't need adjusting!
