R171 SLK Roof not opening

Hello...I’m new here and don’t know how to start a thread...I’ve got a 2005 slk and the roof is tuck closed..the windows drop and the boot opens ...I’ve put an Allen key in the manual bit just behind the centre of the windscreen and that seems to rotate fully and freely...when the roof is powering...it seems to me that the hooks that connect the roof to the windscreen aren’t fully retracting...are they cable operated...and is there a way to get to them please

I’m fairly sure the manual process is in the cars manual , maybe with a special Allen key type tool ?

Guess I’ve put an Allen key in there and rotated it...it still doesn’t unlock...I’m thinking that maybe the cables have stretched a bit..is there any way of removing the headlining with the roof closed
