R172 (2012) SLK water leak

Hi, I seem to have developed a water leak on my SLK, water appears to be sitting in the roof liner, then when a corner is taken pours out over the passenger seat.
I think it could be the roof seal as we have had some very cold weather over the last couple of weeks and seems the seal has deformed. (See photo)
Any idea if this is repairable by myself or would I need to go into MB dealership?

Cant really make out from pic, but that appears to be the door seal to roof line, and should not really let water on to the head lining.
Have you a sunroof ? If you have that would be my first suspect, drain tube off perhaps.

Quite common problem,
Main dealer can do a “Hot wax” seal fix, which may work £800.
It didn’t fix ours and ended up needed roof replacement @ best part of £2K.

No sunroof on the car.
It is the seal which is between the outer curved part of the roof and the flat inner part. ( see photo )

I'd partially open the roof and give it all a really good clean all around that rubber and the mating surface.
Next I'd be very liberal with the application of silicone spray / gummi pflege

The hot wax repair was a Dealer only repair, but I was speaking to an Indie at the weekend and they now have the kit to do it.

Did you get this fixed in the end? My slk leaks the same just on the drivers sides have a panoramic but the seal is same as yours. I' ve searched for this ingress of water as you cant fix unless you know forsure where it comes in? today I raised /lowered grid to get indication where, but the problem is the water that is already inside keeps coming out.
It wasn't till I blew compressed air into the cavity that I saw water coming out from the seal shown in your picture, despite it looking ok.
So if it comes out then it must go In the same way?
So how have you fixed yours please?

It is booked into the local independent MB garage for them to look at. I do have some gummi pflege arriving tomorrow so going to give it a good clean and apply the g/p and hope that helps.
