R230 2003 rear quarter window not working

Hi. Found a few posts with diagrams on this and I've managed to get the plastic and other surrounding bits off the area and discovered that the wire that threads around the pulleys has snapped. Motor works fine so now I need to get the whole assembly out (I think its a few bolts accessible by removing a bit more interior?) and get a new wire and fit it, plus clean out the drain holes. Yes, all seems simple - dream on Mal...... Any idea how/where to get a wire to thread around the pulleys? I've tried a few online places today and spoken to some with absolutely no joy. Thoughts welcome.

Also, the cigarette lighter has broken so a spare would be useful if anyone has one.

Here in France you can get that in the brico places try b and q, some plastic coated, some not.

Try bicycle gear shift or brake cable. Costs buttons from a bike shop and is stainless but you'll need very good cable cutters to cut it cleanly.
Gearshift cable is thinner than brake so take a sample of the old cable to compare.
