R230 am I missing a cover for this pump?

In the picture below on my 2009 SL350 I think I may be missing a foam cover. Can anyone confirm this?

Yes you are. Probably got wet through or damaged and thrown away. Not expensive to replace.

I think garages just chuck them away, as too much trouble to re-fit. However it does make the pump noticeably louder from inside the cabin if the foam is missing, so it does serve a useful purpose. I would think this is an MB only part, give them a try, you may be surprised the price may not be as high as you think.
