R230 RHS Reg light not working. No warning on dash.

Hi All,

I noticed my RHS reg light wasn't working. The LHS no issue. I'm worried why there is no warning on the dash when I start the car.

The third break light is broken and will be sorted this Monday at my indy. Water was getting into the boot from the 3rd brake light. I wonder if this has also broken the reg light.

I've changed the bulbs s it's not that. I've also renewed the glass lenses as the seals were filthy.

Ok. A little bit of progress. I'am getting the warning on the dash. I was to quick to turn the lights on and walk to the back of the car before the warning appeared.

Cleaned the contacts and gently squeezed them together. The light has started working again.

However when you tap it the light occasionally flickers. The car is to go in to replace the 3rd brake light on Monday so I'll ask him to look at it while he's in there.

Some Registration lights are wired in such a way that if just one bulb blows there is no warning, only if they both go.
Although it sounds like you have more of an issue with the connections to the actual lamp holder than between the holder and the bulb.

A light rub over the contacts with fine emery will probably sort it.
