Hello. I recently purchased my first SL…a 2004 R230 SL500.

I have read lots of posts about roof leaks & have stopped all leaks into the boot from the rear window seal & C-pillars. Thank you to everyone for their contributions to previous threads - particularly Malcom.

I have also treated all of the seals with Krytol. Since doing that I have 2 new leaks - one at each side where the roof meets the top of the A-pillar. It drips onto the seat & soaks the headlining at the joint. I can’t find any information on the possible causes of this or how to cure it. Help please!

Hello and welcome

Sometimes new seals will sort it it as I have done before, adjusted the roof at the top of the front screen. It helps to pull the roof in tighter against the seals.

It sounds like your seals are not sealing, although if that is the only leak you have, you are doing quite well.

I have never heard of Krytol, I have always used Gummi Pfledge, some use Krytox. Or buy some new seals.

Yes, Krytox, just an auto-correct issue there.

Ia adjusting the roof straight-forward?

You can start with the catches above the screen, I think there are 3 small bolts that adjust, if I remember rightly remove the overhead sunvisor and padded trim, once this is removed you'll see the both catches and bolts.
