R230 SL drivers door mirror glass replacement

I need to replace the drivers door mirror due to the anti glare failing. I have purchased a non anti glare mirror glass off eBay as a replacement but I can't figure out how to get the old mirror glass off. Any help appreciated.

Thanks but I have tried the brute force method with no luck. I have read online that there is a metal clip that should be removed but I can’t see one!

I remember that my R Class's mirror had a metal clip in there somewhere at the top ..... it was fairly obvious when the top of the glass was pulled forward, so if you can't easily see on, then perhaps there isn't one

Tilt it all the way down and all the way in and you should be able to get to the back of it to release it

An update........ there is no metal clip on my 2004 R230 door mirror glass, it really is just a matter of using more brute force. I have now successfully changed the mirror glass
