Has any Member been down the route of sealing the black Reservoir with epoxy resin Glue ?.
Took the inner trim off the boot lid and loosened the locking mechanism and functioned the lock.
Normally two clicks, First being the lock. Second being the soft pull via the air pulling down the lock to my knowledge.
I brushed up the reservoir and surrounding area with fairey water. The black Reservoir along its joint.
It had bubbles rising as the air escaped. No Soft Closing so have to press on the boot to get the second click lock.
Has anybody been down this route, any knowledge/experience is helpful.
Many Thanks

I just buy a new unit, but I have to guarantee my work, and epoxy fixes don’t tend to last. Yes, it’s quite an expensive part but these were expensive cars when new, and the running costs still match that in many ways.

My soft close is failing too, used to get about 5 soft closes before it stopped working, now it is down to 2.
I'll have to invest in and waterproof version

Yes I did it, you have to glue up all the ballbearings in the lock with epoxy, there are six of them.. Worked fine for me, and was still working when I sold the car. Check out the how to videos on YouTube.

Thanks for the pointers, will investigate further. Have the time.
