Hello Folks !

Just had by Sl500 R230 MOT'd and I've had advisories for bushes Front Offside/Nearside Lower Arms. I know thats a bit vauge given the amount of suspension arms on these BUT is there a "go to" common failure one and is it a DIY job ? I'm hoping it is, I nead a Tavarsih "Wrench Every Day" type job top keep my hand in ! lol

If it's the struts, I've had the bushes injected with resin on mine, saves buying a new strut, Star Motors at Reading did mine, very successfully. Give Ian a ring.

Smart + others :)
It could be your caster arm bushes, they prone to splitting/cracking. You could do them at home but you would need a press and requires removal of arm or you could visit a specialist who could do them in situ. More rare occurrence is the camber arm bushes to split. If shock joint, they normally say.

It's a shame these days when you can't see the MOT being done or they show you if your inetrested in what they find. I find it odd that both side are identified this time and never before. I'll have a jack up on Saturday and see what I can find

It is a shame. Maybe find a smaller, more friendlier outfit.

My go to MOT spot will often show me any issues as I am generally only about 10 feet away when being testing.

Take a look at Legitstreetcars. Some of his older videos show some bushes replaced in situ, admittedly on E320, but shows it can be done
