So guys,

I am looking at buying a window switch for the R230 from AliExpress as I am ordering a few other things like trim clip packs etc..

They only seem to have the switch pack for left door for LHD markets..

I am wondering if I order it, would it be possible to swap over the innards to my existing housing? by the looks of things, it's literally just the button that is broken.. would it be easy to pop out and into existing unit or whatever..?

Any body done this? It's €114 at the dealer, versus €17 on PRC Express, worth a gander anyway..

I did similar with a W203 switch to replace a S203 switch. It was only plastic part broken that I swapped as Saloon and Estate are different. I got mine through eBay not AliExpress. At price quoted it’s worth a pun.

Have you looked the part numbers up for left and right hand drive vehicles? The switch shown looks ambidextrous, I wonder if Mercedes alter the switch wiring or loom for left and right hand drive. Unless it's software coded.

I just looked at a file footage photo of my own interior and the trim piece is different.

From the looks of things the internal switch bits is a separate unit that is fixed to the trim piece.

As suggested I am going to take a punt for 17 yo yos

Let us know how you get on Conor, my drivers side switch is broken too. Haven't been able to get another at an affordable price yet :(

Hi. I had a broken window button cover (button still worked, but it came off in your hand). Bought a cheap after market left side door switch and lifted the cover off it, put it on mine. Took about 2 mins and works fine. Posting as when I looked at forums, the recommendation was to replace like for like
