Hi does anyone know how to remove the rear light from a SL R231. I think I might have a bad connection on the light itself as the problem is intermittent.

Thanks.

Once you have removed the insulation from around the cluster it will be clear how to remove the lamp unit. Usually held on with 2 or more 8mm nuts.
If its a loose or bad connection you are looking for you shouldn't need to remove the lamp. The connections are accessible without removing the unit.

Thanks for that AMGeed. Strange thing is, is that when the fault first occurred I connected my Scan tool and it came up with O/S/R indicator light malfunction internal fault. So I deleted the code and it's been fine since. Maybe it was just an electrical gremlin, time will tell.:)

This fault just cropped up on my car. Right rear indicator (as always seems to be the case) and it has indeed cleared on re-starting the engine. Some have said it is an LED fault, but I have seen adverts for an R231 rear indicator bulb. Anyone know which the car is fitted with and if it is bad/dry connection as others have said?

LSD's unfortunately. I think the whole light cluster would need to be changed. Mine actually did it once on an MOT inspection but it didn't fail or even get an advisory.
