Nice day and I’d bought the discs and pads last month so front brake service for my Smart R451 CDI.
Wheels chocked, jacked up, axel stand and wheel under the car in case the jack decided to drop.
(£21.34 for a pair of genuine Brembo discs… and £30.72 for the 4 Brembo brake pads - from GSF)
13mm spanner to remove the calliper and 18mm socket to remove the pad carrier. Inner brake pad rusted into the pad carrier…
Wearing slightly unevenly as well…
Back of the pad was rusted to the piston (I’m fairly sure they’re original pads as I’ve never changed prior to today (12 years and 59k miles…)
Cleaned up the backing plate and disc carrier
With the aid of my plastic clamps calliper pushed back and excess brake fluid taken out.
