Hi,
When i bought my ML it came with a sony radio/cd, all the factory fitted stuff has been removed, so i thought, but I've got a couple of problems that i don't know how to resolve.
Firstly I can't listen to it above volume setting 4, (in my partners car with a similar radio it'd be on about 12). This leads me to assume there is some sort of amplifier somewhere.
Secondly if i have the volume set to 1 or 2 i can hear a hissing sound like a badly tuned radio, but it happens also when i listen to a cd (both copied and original). Again this leads me to believe that there is some sord of amp which is causing this feedback.
I did the VIN check on the link you provide and it says
radio audio ML 10 with bose sound system and 7 loudspeakers
CD changer - alpine - in trunk
I've non of these (apart from the speakers!).
The radio i have in is a sony cdx-s2250s.
Does anyone know what might be causing this? Is there an amp hiding somewhere? If there is, is there anyway I can get round this or should I just take it to the local car radio place for them to look at it?
Any help will be appreciated!
Ursula
