Radio cutting out

Anyone had problems with their radio cutting out - I have a 12 month old E220 and its been back to the garage a few times to be reset - now its cutting out again - is this overengineered? When I said i thought it was a loose wire they said "there are no wires and it will have to be reprogrammed via a download from the MB web site in Germany" scary

:!: the radio on my c200 komp would cut out with a loud crack, this would also stop the CD player from working. When it came back on a few secs later it was at a reduced level. The unit was replaced twice under warranty but the dealer failed to find any problem. However i have stopped putting my mobile below the radio and it hasn't happened again so far!
