I have a 2020 keyless B Class. When I used to switch off the engine and open the drivers door the radio used to switch off. Now it is intermittent. Sometimes it works but in the main the radio stays on until the car is locked when it switches off. If the door had a courtesy light switch I would suspect it to be sticking but I cant find one. Any ideas anyone.

Does it make a difference if you switch the radio on before starting the engine?

It makes no difference, and it is intermittent. Last night arrived home in the rain and all worked perfectly.

I think the door courtesy light switch is nowadays a microswitch built into the door lock mechanism, so you may need to look there. Does the courtesy light also misbehave at the same time? (Note - courtesy lights only come on at night I believe in modern Mercedes)

The courtesy light wasn't working either. I had my son in law who owns a garage do a diagnostic check and it showed the faulty door part. He then reprogrammed it and at the moment all is working as it should.

does it have the kelyess theft option ?
does it do OTA updates on the comand unit ?

mines a much older car, but my radio only turns off when I pull the key - opening the door and killing it would be really annoying, maybe they changed how it works in an update - and the keyless theft is interesting, I wonder how on the same model mine copes if you have that option ?

. When not in use I put both fobs in a Faraday Pouch so they cannot be scanned by car thieves.
Any Mercedes keys made after about the middle of 2018 have a movement detector in them so they stop transmitting when they are still. That means they can’t be scanned if they are in your house/drawer/cupboard etc.

Yes, mine is basically keyless. I use the fob to unlock the door but once that is done I put the fob in my pocket. Then to start the car, foot on brake and press button The updates are done via the 'Mercedes Me' app. When not in use I put both fobs in a Faraday Pouch so they cannot be scanned by car thieves. If I want to leave the radio/media on for a passenger when I am out of the car I just press the start button without my foot on the brake pedal.
