The A class we have has a sony radio fitted which is full of small buttons and I cant use it, what radio would a 2003 avantgarde have as standard please or what MB stereo could I fit.

IIRC Sony are the standard fitment, or at least it was in the A-Class my father had. Like you they found the small buttons hard to use.

It is standard fitment for the A-class of that period. We had to fit them on PDI.

I had a Sony in mine, took it out and installed an Audio 30APS, just a straight swap with the addition of the GPS antenna mounted just below the tax disc. Sound is very good. The sony had an adapter lead, from standard A/B connectors to there own connectors, just remove this and use the A/B cons.

You can optionally fit a COMAND 2.0, but it entails a little handy work with a file to square out a double din hole.

Anycase, any unit you can pickup in Halfords or specialist car-fi shops will fit as it uses standard connectors.

A standard Audio 10 from a W208/W210 will fit nicely and looks more OEM than any Sony.

Comand isnt that difficult to fit either!

Some Sony's are good, I have a Sony MEX-R1 in my Seicento with 7" Screen, plays DVD's, MP3 DVD's, CD's etc and its easier to use than the unit which is supplied in the A-Class.

I still have my A-Class Sony, perhaps you want to have a group sony bashing session

And I agree we should all meet up and smash the crap out of all these crap gadgets, I had a samsung mobile recently, It drove me crazy so I tortured the ****** thing using a plasma cutter, great fun.
