hey all....just querying....im installing another cd player....the power wires in my 190e are brown, red, yellow and blue . I think thats right, cant remember. What I want to know is what each wire is for..... i need a live +ve wire, earth and a live wire for when the ignition in the ACC position. so far im guessing browns earth, yellow is live and blue is ACC. The ACC wire that ive got to seems to have 5 volts when the ignitions off? Why? is this normal? Whats the red wire? something to do with the electric aerial?

Also my cd player has four (8 wires) separate speaker connections, the merc has four wires! whats the best way to hook it up? I was going to just lead wires direct from each speaker and bi pass the fader switch.....

thanks guys

Josh,

*Normally* Brown is Earth, Yellow is + Constant (Fused say 10A inline is a good idea), Red is ACC+, Blue is power antennae.

4 wires are for the front speakers only. You will have to run seperate cables for two rear speakers if you have a 4 channel amp in your CD player.

i think the four wires are earth, constant live, ignition live and the last one will be dimmer swith to dim lights on radio when you switch on your headlights. as to find out which is which invest in a 12 volt tester

the consatnt is always on
ignition is only on when ignition is on (ACC)
dim swith turn on the lights and see if there is power
