Hello everyone...
I have a Mercedes 230 TE estate 1993 and a Sony radio/CD player. When starting the car from cold the radio works fine but after approx 10 minutes or so I get lots of interference on all wave bands and all stations. If I turn the engine off I still get no clear signal. Is this the aerial breaking down or some other problem. I've not heard of a problem like this before and didn't know aerial's can break down!!

Any help appreciated.
Regards.

If it starts after a few minutes of running and you still get interference when the engine is off, I would start to suspect the radio itself. Try starting the car with the radio off, run it for 15 mins and then turn the radio on. I wonder if it will be fine for 10 mins?
I agree with you on tha ariel, it either works or it doesn't (its only a bit of metal plugged into the back of the set - there isn't much else to it assuming its not an integral rear window type).
Could be the radio going off frequency as it warms up.
